Howdy IL Nesties!
I'm a MN Knottie who just moved to Chicago for school. FI and I are just starting to consider the option of buying a condo in the city...and kinda have no idea where to start. I tried to do a search for posts related to homebuying, and couldn't find anything. Sooo...if any of you have a realtor you used that you loved, or any other relevant advice/info, we would really appreciate it!
TIA!
Re: Pimp your realtor!
Thanks! Yeah, I've been looking online a bit in order to check out prices. I agree some places are WAY overpriced. I've seen some decent 2 beds for around $200,000...so that's sort of what we are shooting for.
Anyways, I don't really know of anyone (since I just moved) here that owns...so any info on realtors from the rest of you lovelies would be much appreciated!

We started using this realtor about 3 months ago, really like him. He knows the Edgewater/Andersonville/Rogers Park area very well. We have our 1 bedroom for sale with him for $149k, had to drop a lot due to the market

ChiTownBelle,
I am currently renting for this year, we're looking to buy after our wedding. I totally agree with getting the feel for a neighborhood first, especially in this city where they can differ so much!

I sent you an email.
Good eye. That was taken in Old San Juan! We had a destination wedding there last November.
A little late but we used Carrie Plafchan, @properties. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She was SO patient with us, considering the amount of time it took us to decide on a place and the fact that we changed our mind about things we wanted here and there.

MrsWindy and everyone else,
Thanks for the info!!
HollyMichael,
I'm from PR, so I would recognize that any day! Old San Juan is one of my favorite places in the world next to El Yunque National Rainforest! I bet that was a beautiful wedding!
