searching for camera
I just discovered this board! I posted on my local, parenting, and travel boards with few answers. But here is where I need to be.
I am an idiot with cameras. I need something easy to use. I would like it to take pics quickly, and obviously great pics. I would love to stay with a small camera, but want speed too! Spending no more than $500 would be ideal, but I am willing to spend a little more.
Background...I have a canon powershot SD 870is that is not quite 2 yrs old. I love it, but has now decided it doesn't like me anymore. It has been repaired twice and it is just dead! I also had the Nikon Coolpix 5400 from a few years ago that is way too slow and difficult to use.

I have a Fuji S1500. I really like it. I wanted a better camera to take good pics of my girls, but I didn't want anything too complicated. After several reccomendations from friends, this is the one I ended up with. I love it.

I've got more issues than a magazine
I was going to suggest a newer version of the very camera that gave you so much trouble, but I guess that's probably not something that would interest you.
Sorry you've had such bad experiences with the Canon SD series. I love them so much!
