Re: Fooball recap

  • Disappointing!!!

Huskers played Virginia Tech for our first road game.  I was anxious to see how our young team would do on the road and I was really impressed with our defense.  They really stepped it up for most of the game.  It ended up being a game of 3 big Tech plays which cost us the game.  We were ahead with 2 minutes left and then a long pass by Va Tech set up their game winning touchdown.  So depressing!!  I saw a lot of good things from our players, though, and I think with some corrections, we will be ready for conference play.  Our QB was a little shaken up after an INT so I hope he can settle down for our next game.  We also had problems in the red zone as our only points were 5 field goals so I hope that gets fixed.  We have the world?s best kicker, though.  76 yard punt and 5/5 on field goals!!  He?s clutch.

  • We did pretty good.  We played at home against WVU, but there was a rain delay of over an hour.  I think it let our team lose some of their psych-up.  We didn't do very well in the first 1/2 but came back strong in the 2nd 1/2 for the win.  I was pretty impressed because in years past we haven't been a 2nd 1/2 team.
  • UVA blew a double-digit lead to lose, again, as usual.  They're experts at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Meanwhile, I'm hearing all kinds of booing and griping around town about the Redskins' pathetic win yesterday.  9-7, all field goals.  It's a win, but people are practically threatening the coach's life.

  • OSU killed the University of Toledo 38-0!  We were at the game (see post below) and it was awesome!

I'm currently third in our NFL pool and third in a Nest pool for this week (until tonight, at least).  GO DOLPHINS - don't disappoint me!!!

  • We will see tonight.  GO COLTS!!!
  • I cannot, cannot, CANNOT believe that the Steelers lost to the Bears!  Definitely a sad day in the Steeler Nation.

  • I am another sad fan in Steeler Nation after the loss to the Bears.  The Bears?!?!?!  Seriously?!?!  Atleast the Patriots also lost so I didn't have to hear about the Steeler loss all day at work today.

Fantasy football is off to a tough start... after a loss last week I am behind 8 points going into tonight... hoping the Colts D puts up some numbers for me tonight!!!

  • OU beat Tulsa, so DH is happy.  OSU beat Rice, so I'm happy.  Overall a good weekend, football-wise.
  • UGA beat Arkansas even though our defense looks like crap! Crossing my fingers for next weekend...we'll see what happens!
