Just wondering how widespread it is here in WI right now. I have an infant and a little guy who just started school so I want to err on the side of caution. I haven't had anyone I know get it yet *knock on wood*.
Will you be vaccinating your LOs for it? I am leaning toward no (yes for the regular flu shot). However, my pedi. is recommending the H1N1 vaccine as well.
Re: H1N1 Discussion
This is a good website for information.
I am pregnant and have a 2 year old and we are not getting the H1N1 vaccine nor are we getting the regular flu shot.

My take: initially, I was going to get the Seasonal but not the H1N1 since it wasn't necessarily "tested" on pregnant women.. however, since the H1N1 is made exactly the same as the seasonal (grown in eggs, etc) I was more comfortable with it. Since the seasonal flu vaccine is actually "new" every year (new strains, etc) the "new" H1N1 is just like getting another 'regular' flu shot.. it's just using the strains known to cause H1N1.
I think the real "selling point" with me was (a): pregnant women's immune systems are compromised from being pregnant, so even if I'm considering myself overall 'healthy,' .. in this state I'm still at higher risk.. ... and (b) we'll be doing lots of flying with LO once he/she arrives, so I'm able to transfer my immunity to baby by vaccinating myself while pregnant since the vaccine is only going to be approved in ages over 6 months..
Every one is kind of struggling with this new dilemma of "to vaccinate for H1N1 or not to vaccinate.." You'll likely hear everything from one end of the spectrum to the next!
