So I posted last week about MIL bringing up kids. The reason it was brought up was really the reason I was miffed (to solve my loneliness problem). Anyway, talking to my dad yesterday and I was talking about how we are contemplating moving. Dad said, in almost a hushed voice "well, you might need the extra bedroom soon." You could almost hear him blushing on the other end. It was just so freaking cute to hear my dad mention the idea of kids. So I'm a hypocrite because its OK if my dad mentions grandkids, but not MIL.
Re: I'm a hypocrite
That is really cute. There's just something about Dad asking. What'd you say?
Where are you guys thinking about moving?
I told him our plan was to start trying netx summer. Although it was strange to say to my dad, because of what "trying" is.
We are just thinking about moving to a bigger place. We like the area we are in now, but are also considering some places in the northern part of Chicago. We want to stay in the city, and he doesn't want to have ot commute more than 1/2 hour on the train. We are so new still though, and don't go out much, so we don't really know the true feel of all the neighborhoods.

I don't think you're a hypocrite. Your dad was suggesting you take the possibility of future kids into consideration in making the expensive permanent home purchase. MIL was suggesting you should have kids to stave off lonliness...
Prepare for the possibility =/= Kids as solution to problems
Plus dads are infinitely more cute in this situation
