Yummy French restaurant rec
This place is delicious, great service, nice patio, etc. We had brunch on the patio and it was wonderful. The only negative was no changing table in the women's restroom...boooo. Anyway, go try it out!

ooo ooo so didn't even realize they served this...
it was totally yummy the jen, dont get me wrong...my mouth is drooling just THINKING about it..but it was hard for me to get over the super thick almost cloth like paper in the bathrooms for drying hands...and the individual ketchups/tobasco sauce that they brought out...which i'm sure they throw away after each use. yes they were super cute and i was super excited to show DH the mini tobasco when i got home, but i couldn't help but think about what a waste that was...talk about non eco-friendliness....but that's the nerd in me coming out
don't hate me...hahaha i still had a blast and had super crazy yummy food there!

Eh. Pick your battles I say. The ham industry is a trillion times worse than the foie gras industry...the way the treat they animals, the environmental impact, just to start. But I dont boycott all restaurants that serve ham.
Just dont eat it. That has the biggest impact on the producers in this case, and doesnt harm the local business.
And, not to beat a dead horse (goose?) here-the dairy industry is directly linked to the veal industry. You guys said you liked cheese--so thats ok but not goose abuse?
I'm just being difficult . But really, local buisnesses often suffer when consumers have the best of intentions, and to me thats sad-you gotta take it to the man, not the middleman.
I hate goose abuse! Damn the man!!
Oh wait.................uh.....
Well sh!t. Is the dairy industry really directly linked to the veal industry? Because I love, love, love cheese and ice cream. More than Jeff even, and I'm kinda attached to him. See, you just gave me something else to research. *sigh*
Google at your own risk. You will cry. And for the love of all thats cute and cudddly, put on an emotional teflon suit before you google hog farms. I was in a funk for days.
Its hard out there for a consumer, lol!
Some sides say the only way to truly avoid harming animals is to go vegan. I disagree and think thats a little extreme (and I cannot live w/o chevre and brie). I say, the more local your farm, the less likely you will find rampant abuse.
Oh, I don't really do pork. Imported prosciutto, bacon and a local roast now and then on very rare occasions. After living in NC with Smithfield's it takes a LOT for me to eat it.
And I agree with the local farming and buying happy animals at Whole Foods or New Seasons. But I still can't justify the whole foie gras thing. I don't eat veal either, for that matter. Or lamb. No baby animals in my diet! : )
Uhhh, I would avoid Whole Foods. They're not a good company.
why do you say whole foods isn't a good company? just out of curiosity? i dont know much about them...
