Does anyone know of any nice rental homes available?

Hi Ladies,

My family and I relocated from RI to SC August 1st. We have been staying with family since then. My husband finally got a job and we are now dying to move in to our own place!!!! My kids are in Wade Hampton High and Sevier Middle School in Taylors. They always knew we would possibly have to change schools when my husband found a job. I am willing to live in Taylors, Greer, Simpsonville, Fountain Inn and some areas of Greenville.

We would love to buy but are not quite sure that we want to commit to that so soon after being here. I would need a three to four bedroom house and I will admit that I am picky. I am looking to spend between $900.00-$1200 per month. Just thought I would mention it in case any of you ladies knew of anything good. TIA!!

  • We just moved to SC last week and Craigslist helps us out alot. We also looked on Realtor.com as well. HTH!
  • I keep checking on Craigslist and haven't found what I am looking for yet. I will continue to look and I'm sure something will come up. How do you like it here so far?

  • I know in Charleston there is a website: charlestonrealestateguide.com, so maybe there will be one in the greenville area as well, it has been really helpful for us....I hope there is one up there as well.

We're looking on Craigslist too, but we've found a lot of people spaming us when we'll email them about homes.  So just be careful!

So far...a week...I love it. We're renting in Hamlin Plantation and the location is perfect for us. There are tons of stores around/the beach is less then 10 mins/ its quiet in here and our neighbors so far have been all friendly and nice. If you see a place you like a little more then your price range, ask if they will negotiate. We did this and it worked. We had to rent our house in Jersey out so what we could pay for rent here wasn't too high but we also needed something bigger b/c of all our stuff and this landlord compromised with us. We checked CL every day and it wouldn't hurt to maybe get a realtor down here to help you find places.

  • Have you looked to see what might be available in Pebble Creek or Half Mile Lake? I know when I go to visit my parents who live over there I've seen a few for rent.

  • I really like the Pebble Creek area. Not much has come up in my internet searches. Maybe I need to just take a ride and check out the neighborhoods.
  • That's what I've had to do in the past, ride around through neighborhoods.  Like I said, I know I've seen signs up around the neighborhoods and other subdivisions in that area.
  • We used a realtor and found a home on the MLS...but in the past I've used ahrn.com and craigslist.org
  • There are three houses for rent in my neighborhood, Bennington, which is near Sugar Creek and Thornblade on the East side of Greenville (near Pelham and 85).  My neighbor has hers for rent for $1300, and even though it's the cheapest of the three it's also the nicest. It's a two story brick colonial with attached garage and probably 4-5 bedrooms. It's in great condition.  She might be flexible on the price. Don't remember the address, but it's just down the street from 215 Wycliffe Dr, Greer, SC 29650.  There's also lots of kids in the neighborhood.
