Black Towels <sigh>
Please someone give me the magical cure to solve my black towel issue. I have bought black towels in the past and I've never had this big of an issue before. But they leave such horrible lint on us after we shower. I have researched online and I've tried a few "home-remedy" tricks. Nothing is working. My Royal Velvet black towels are getting the best of me! The best is when lint is ALL over my face.
Does anyone know what's up with this? Or am I just doomed?
Thanks in advance!!

Re: Black Towels <sigh>
So the internet told me that they had to washed many times before this stopped. I'm past the MANY times. I'm in the OCD stage! I'm bound and determined to get this fixed. These towels are so nice!!
I have heard both sides, don't dry in the dryer and dry in the dryer. Drying in the dryer grabs all the lint, so I shouldn't have the further issue. Well I will tell you, I've done both. I've hung dry some to test this other side and it still doesn't work.
I'm close to throwing in the towel. LOL! Literally......
Frustrating! I had this happen with our dark blue towels, but it stopped after the first few washes. I always dry my towels in the dryer until they are completely dry (no damp spots to 'hang dry').
I wonder if Amy is onto something with the dryer sheets. I only use Downy (in the rinse cycle) because dryer sheets leave a weird film on everything. After I dry myself off, I can smell Bounce on my skin! No thanks. Maybe if you're using dryer sheets, that same coating is holding the lint to the towels.
Hm, as for the dryer sheets, I use Bounce Free (b/c I'm allergic to scented things--like lotions/dryer sheets, etc) and it doesn't leave residue and doesn't smell like much.
But yeah, I also dry the towels until they're super dry. That way, less lint stays on...hopefully. I think also since we got the towels when we were still living in NV, it's so dry there that I think most of the lint came off anyway?
I would return them to the store. It doesn't sound normal.
If there is some reason you can't return them, try putting them in the washing machine with cold water and a 2 cups of white vinegar - no detergent or anything else. Let it go for a couple of minutes to mix. Let soak for an hour. Rinse on cold. Dry normally.
