I am surprised my dog lived through tonight...
So, I came home from school to discover the dog chewing our NEW ORIENTAL RUG we got as a wedding gift. About four inches of it. It was from DH's brother who is in Iraq.
I am highly surprised the dog is still alive, although i did have to keys out of his hand because he was going to drive her to the pound...
Ugh, any ideas how to fix an oriental rug?

A well-placed piece of furniture? Something heavy?
Hope she doesn't get too sick...

she def isn't feeling too good.
I think i saved the day. I just found a local place that replaced the selvege (the edging to prevent it from fraying--thats what she ate and the fringe) for only $20 per square foot. thats a lot cheaper than we had assumed...
Yikes our boxer pup did this about a year ago but to our cheap carpet remnant rug thankfully. Since the rug only cost us less than $100 to begin with we pitched it and bought a new one. Luckily we weren't home (my BIL was dogsitting) when it happened or the pup would have been in danger too. He still stays in a cage when we leave during the day now because I can't get myself to trust him again.
Do watch him though, ours was sick for about 3 days and couldnt keep anything down - we called the vet and they said just to watch him and if it lasted more than a week or got worse to bring him in but luckily he went back to normal.

Most of it was in pieces on the floor--I don't think she swallowed that much. She is still eating, going to the bathroom, etc. She is a little sluggish, but i really think that is just because we yelled at her so much (i know this sounds crazy but she is sensitive to that and will mope).
I never thought about her being sick though--thanks for warning me. I wil be sure to keep an eye on her...
