Hey Sandra! How are you?! I wanted to let you know that my SIL was sporting the bracelet you made as part of her wedding-day ensemble! The bracelet was the perfect finishing touch, IMO. You can see it in many of the photos I took at their wedding.
Are you still making jewelry?
Re: ::: SanHawaii08 :::
hi nicole! yay!! I'm glad your SIL liked the bracelet.
your photos are beautiful, btw, you really captured the spirit of the day. i made wedding jewelry for a friend and her bm's, but other than that, haven't done much. these days, I've been spending my time knitting when i'm not crazy busy at work.
how have you been? you're doing great with WW! such an inspiration
and it looks like you're keeping busy with custom orders? any food recommendations for LV? we're headed there in a few weeks for a wedding. I'm not super excited about the strip, but some good food always perks me right up...
Glad you liked the photos! I definitely had fun shooting them. Ooh, what are you knitting? It's great that you have a relaxing hobby away from work! I hope you're taking ample time for yourself.
I have no clue how to knit. My mom does a lot of crocheting. She's already made several baby blankets for her first grandchild. Is that a big hint or what?!
LV was fun! We always stay downtown at The Main Street Station. I really like eating at the Triple 7 Restaurant and Microbrewery. Ono food. The Main Street Garden Court buffet is pretty good, too. I love that they have a soft serve machine and an entire section devoted to desserts! I engorged myself with so much food on this trip! I didn't even track my food or points. I conveniently forgot all my WW tools at home...I swear, it was an honest oversight on my part!
Nonetheless, I think my metabolism must be changing or we did way more walking than I realized because I don't think I gained any weight. We shall see. I weigh in today after work.
I'm not familiar with places to eat on the the strip, though. The only place we ate this time around was at Maggiano's (Italian) in the Fashion Show Mall. It was excellent, IMO, and the prices were so reasonable with large portion sizes! I really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant, too. I recommend going at lunch time. Not too crowded and the prices are a couple dollars cheaper for the same food as compared to dinner time. We're definitely going back there, but probably won't be able to until March.
It was still pretty warm during our stay. It was about 98F or 99F while we were ther and it hit 100F the day we left. It should be cooling down by the time you go.
Where are you staying in LV? Where is your friend getting married?
hah! well, she'll just have to be a bit more patient, i guess
you were going to revisit after your vegas trip right? or was it next year? ...<whispers> we agreed i'd go off bc after last month - so i took my last pill last week. we're not going to TTC yet, but in a few months...
the thing i'm most worried about (in the short term, at least!) is my crazy irregular cycles. the last oh, 8+ years on the pill have been so nice for that! i think i need to read TCOYF and start charting, etc, only so i don't have a little "accident"
ugh.
I'm still pretty new to knitting, so i'm trying out a bunch of different things. baby stuff (hats, sweaters, bibs), a felted bag, hats. i made one scarf to start, and i was bored to tears. my current obsession is socks! so many pretty yarns...
i'm working up the courage to make an adult-sized sweater. i'll post a link to some photos some day, once i get them organized.
ooh, thanks for the recommendations! i'll have to check them out. and yes, maggiano's is yummy! *huge* portions though!! we used to go to the one near us in college - the portion sizes are good for poor college kids, hah. and i saw your post last night - GREAT job on barely gaining any weight!! all that walking must have paid off.ack. so. hot. living in seattle means i can barely stand weather over 85 now
the heat will be nice though, it will probably be raining here by then, sigh. the wedding is at the M Resort and Casino - it looks pretty nice from the website. and we're staying nearby (I think) at the Wingate by Wyndham - it's just a hotel, no casino even. but super cheap
Hmm...I'm going to have to PM you about certain portions of your last reply.
Ooooh, we actually visited the M Resort! It is definitely s-w-a-n-k-y!!!!! I was dying to see one of the rooms, but couldn't work up the nerve to ask the front desk if I could check it out. I'd love to see wedding pics when you get back! I'm sure it will be pretty darn cool!
While I was digging the vibe and the decor, Brian and his friend were drooling all over the fountain drink stations throughout the casino. You just walk right up to them, grab a cup and drink to your heart's content. Boys.
Yes! I'd love to see photos of your knitted creations! Knitted socks sounds so warm and comfy....
I also had another realization last night as to why I was able to keep the weight gain to a minimum while in LV. We ate dinner (granted they were HUGE dinners) at around 7 or 8PM, but then we wouldn't go to bed until about 2 or 3AM...and no snacking in between. I guess I burned off some of the buffet before I went to bed without realizing it at the time. But, I need to get back on track this week.
Anywho, I'll be PM-ing you shortly.
