I'm thinking about starting to watch one or two kids during the day. Partly for extra money, partly for Elise to have some kids to play with. I'm hesitant because I've gotten used to being able to just go whenever I want and that would eliminate that possibility. I could still do it if I just watched one child, with the parent's permission of course.
That said...how much would I even charge for that per week?
Re: opinions needed
I got a quote from an in home caretaker and she charged $90 a week. But she only did "teachers hours". Personally, I'd be willing to pay $100 a week for a good in-home daycare. The daycares here charge between $130-150 a week so you'd still be competitive.
But you need to take into account how you're going to feed these kids. I'm assuming you'd be watching toddlers and not infants so are you going to ask for the parents to provide their kids food? Or will you just pay for it? Or will you do a monthly food charge? My SIL send our nephew to an in home daycare and each parent pays like $40 a month so that the caretaker can get food for all the kids.
Or you could just steal the food for the kids... LOL
I'm in a silly mood today...
