What would you interpret this symbol to mean?
<><
I think I know what it is, but I want to make sure before I deal with it.
I'll explain the situation once I get clarification.
***Going on mat leave and having someone replace you is super stressful***
Re: What does this mean?
I think so too, but does it "mean" something?
That is what I assumed it was.
So the girl who is taking over my position when I am on mat leave, has it in her email signature. Her regular signature follows our corporate standard, but her "reply" signature is just her first initial plus the fish symbol. We technically don't have a standard for our reply signature.
Do you think this is appropriate for her signature? I can't tell if I am just negative towards her because of other issues (plus my own anxiety about passing my job off to someone else), or if it is actually inappropriate.
BTW - I have no issues with religion (I am catholic), I just don't think it is work appropriate.
Thoughts?
It's completely innapropriate. Visual identity standards are part of my job and I would not allow that on a corporate signature.
Fine for a personal email address - not for a business address.
I'm a nerd so I thought "lesser than, greater than, lesser than"
It's unprofessional but I don't think it's something to worry about. She probably thinks no one will understand the meaning behind the fish unless they are religious.
Some people at my work have funny quotes.
