Re: PCP/TTT/ATP
Congrats on telling the coworkers! :-)
I've already mentioned it, but our update is that we have a TTC date set in stone- immediately after graduation in May/June 2010. Again, this may seem silly, but it's all I have so I'm going to celebrate it! This time next year I could be pregnant! I could be entering my 2nd trimester!!
Hey ladies. Congrats on all the good news around here!
I am in the middle of my first cycle post-surgery (fibroid removal). The surgeon said we had to wait a couple of months before TTC. This is fine, since my cycles were increasingly erratic as surgery approached and I was bleeding all month long, so it was hard to chart. So, we're charting again for the next two cycles and trying to pin down which donor we like. The one we've been talking about hypothetically for a while is now retired and in short supply, so we're hoping to decide soon and buy sperm to store if needed. If all goes well, we're aiming for cycle 1 in December.
Ren?e is settling in at college, and I miss her like crazy. Trying not to be too stereotypical in my "empty nest"-ing, but it's harder than I expected. We had a nice long chat a night or two ago, and it's nice to have all the good stuff without the day-to-day stuff that always put us at odds. Looking forward to seeing her at Christmas! (though it sounds so far away)
That's really exciting! It feels so great to have a date to count down to!!

I have no QOTD ideas... My update is that I am 8 wks today! I know it's not a major milestone, but it kind of feels like one, so I'm excited
These days I need to eat pretty much constantly, and get tons of sleep. Still feeling sick and very tired, but doing okay with it.
We had our first midwife appt on Monday - we really like our midwife and the birth center seems great. I feel really good about our choice.
This weekend we were planning on telling both sets of my parents, but have decided to only tell one set (the one that is likely to receive the news better), and wait until the 2nd tri to tell the other. Feeling really good about this decision, and so excited to tell my dad this weekend!! I think he, my stepmom and sis are going to be completely shocked - I strongly doubt they see this coming.
Also, I told my direct boss this week. She was really excited for me and C. I only told her and she understands that I want to wait another month to tell everyone else, but I really wanted her to understand what's going on with me as I have missed a little work due to m/s and have been struggling to stay on top of my game. As a mom of 2, she was very understanding!

hi valancy! good to see you. we miss you both around here. or i do, at least, guess i shouldn't speak for everyone.
so mrs. f is 8 weeks along, and we are less than 8 weeks away! i can hardly believe it. we have our regular ob appointment tomorrow, and next tuesday we have the appointment with the high-risk ob to talk about what to expect after her positive test result last week. i think we'll probably hear a little more tomorrow from our regular ob, and as far as i know there are no plans to switch us, just go in for a consult about what we need to do to make sure the rest of the pregnancy and her recovery are as safe as possible.
and! this past weekend we painted the nursery and set up the crib! we still need to actually get a mattress and bedding and all that, but we've actually got a room that will be all his. so awesome.
I'm 18 weeks now, which is unreal to me. How is it going so fast?!
We scheduled our big u/s for 3 weeks from now and I can NOT wait to find out what we're having.
I'm still having nauseous mornings, but its been better.
We've started looking up daycares and pediatricians... ::gulp!:: It seems very overwhelming, but we're just starting slow and getting a list of possible places which we can start narrowing down by visiting and requesting rate info. We finally found a benefit to Trav's furlough days, as he can do initial visits with some of these daycares (taking a list of questions) and get a narrowed down list that we want to visit together.

Ella has now been home for 1 week. It has been great to have her home. We have been mostly just hanging aroung the house and to the doctor's office. We did take a trip to BRU to pick up some items and to our favorite lesbian coffee shop. Ella was a big hit with all the baristas.
We love having her home. It is so cool to be typing this and looking at my daughter. She has been having some trouble with sleeping at night. She was not liking her pack n play. I think it is too big and see feels too exposed. We did have good luck last night and she slept in the pnp until her 2 am feeding. She was a little refluxy so she slept the rest of the night in her bouncy seat. She actually slept until 7:30 am today! She is mostly keeping her every 4 hour schedule which is pretty good and since I am used to getting up to pump it is not too bad.
She has had some visitors (my parents and s's parents) and it has been so nice to see them with Ella outside the hospital, My Dad is so cute with her. Our fav. Dr from the nicu came over to watch football Sunday it was really nice to see a familiar face and also have someone check out Ella and make sure she was doing ok. Some school friends came by to visit and that was great to see people and to have them meet Ella.
I can't believe she is almost 6.5 pounds!
