AT&T: Can you check dropped call %?

Does anyone know if you can check dropped calls % by area? Especially for AT&T?

Re: AT&T: Can you check dropped call %?

  • I tried googleing for a while, and I couldn't find anything but this: http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/01/14/which-cell-phone-carrier-has-the-fewest-dropped-calls/

It's statistics for all of America, but I thought you might find it a tad useful.

  • I am unaware of any way to check.  I did get super annoyed with the high volume of dropped calls I have had lately so I went to apple and complained.  They hooked up my phone to diagnostics and found around a 25% dropped call rate which they said is perfectly normal right now. :(

Ew. At least you're saving a couple of bucks from the last minute of your dropped calls? Tongue Tied

Did they give you a reason?  I always hear complaints about AT&T and the iPhone dropping calls, but I have never had an issue...

  • Thanks guys. I was considering an IPhone, but have heard the nightmarish stories about AT&T's drop rate.

I was hoping to check those areas I travel to regularly. LOL

It's really only an issue in highly populated and condensed areas. In NYC and SanFran there are issues because there are SO MANY people all trying to use their iphones at once and overloading the couple of cell towers in that area. I live in Atlanta and I don't think I've ever had a dropped call on my iPhone.

  • No matter which phone I've had over the years on the AT&T/Cingular plan, about 50% of my calls get dropped after 4 minutes.  It's very annoying.

  • WOW. So you're saying that AT&T is telling you that it's "normal" that 1 in 4 (or more) calls get dropped? That's completely redic!

I really really want an iPhone, but that's not something I'd put up with. Not sure the last time I had a dropped call, actually.
