We don't have Verizon Wireless, but I just read about this online and wanted to share it with you all.
In your latest bill, there was probably an insert that you might not have noticed. This is where it directs you: Legal Notice. If you don't feel like reading all of that, I'll break it down.
Simply put, Verizon will give your personal information (including things like the plan you purchase, who you call and how often, etc.) away to other companies and advertisers unless you notify them that you'd like to opt-out of this. That's right, unless you opt-out, they assume you are giving them consent to give out your personal information.
Here are the instructions they give you for opting out: " You may opt out by calling us at 1?800?333?9956 and following the recorded directions. Alternatively, you may call 1?800?922?0204 from 6am to 11pm to reach a Customer Service Representative who can process your opt out for you. Finally, you can also visit www.verizonwireless.com, register for My Verizon, and opt out by updating your profile."
It says in different places that you have either 30 or 45 days to opt-out before they give out your information.
Like I said, we don't have Verizon Wireless (T-Mobile is where it's at, in our opinion), but I felt that I should let all of you know about this.

They sent mine in an email since I get electronic bills. I just had to follow the prompts and it opted me out.
