Weekend plans?

Its so quiet around here lately! Has everyone been super busy?

Any plans for this first weekend of autumn?

Re: Weekend plans?

  • Tonight will be the usual low-key Friday night, which I am counting down the minutes to.

Tomorrow I think we need to go to Target and the grocery store and do some laundry.  That will be plenty enough to tire me out for one day!  So we'll try to take it easy in between.

Then on Sunday, we'll have lunch at my mom's house.  Then over to my dad's house, when we'll tell them about the baby!

  • I'm only 16 days away from my Walk so work has been really busy.  But I do keep checking here in, just don't have the brain power to think of fun posts.

Tonight - nothing big.  K was out of town teaching last night so maybe tonight we'll try to grab dinner out or something.

Saturday - I'm taking an all day defensive drivers course. It's free through my work and it gets me 10% off my auto insurance.  It's all day though - bummer.

Sunday - Sunday is usually our day for errands and house projects.  Depending on the weather we may try to sand and paint the deck.

  • i have been super busy at work, and then yesterday i was out so i wasn't on the comupter much.

tonight we're going to a friend's new place for her housewarming party, which should be fun. i'm not sure how late we'll stay, but we haven't been very social lately it seems, so it will be good to get together with folks and just hang out.

tomorrow we have our all-day childbirth class! i'm actually half looking forward to it and half dreading it, but once it's done we'll be finished with all of our pre-baby classes which will be good. we will also be just 7 weeks away from the due date. i can't believe it!

i have no idea what we're doing on sunday. probably just taking it easy at home.

  • We were going to hit another fair tonight but this week was go-go-go and i could really use a quiet night at home so I think we'll skip it.

Tomorrow we're going to an all day scrapbooking event. maybe I'll finally finish the honeymoon album?

Sunday is Yom Kippur so its back over Bubby's house.

  • Definitely super busy at work lately.

In fact, I have to work all day Saturday, which stinks. I'm not looking forward to a full day of work while my boy and my pup are chilling at home. Blah.

Sunday should be a lot more fun though... we are heading up to the Lehigh Valley for the Celtic Classic! I canNOT wait to watch the caber toss and eat some Haggis.

  • We don't have much planned this weekend, which is nice. It's still insanely hot here so we are limited on what we can do with little ones. I have some baking to do, scrapbooking to work on and I am determined to finish a closet project.
  • Tonight we're having dinner and a movie at home. Then C will finish editing our trip photos and I'll study for my big childbirth educator's test that's fast approaching.

Tomorrow morning I'm going to a family of multiples sale in the morning and then we're renting a truck and picking up furniture that's being given to us by friends. It's a nice living room set that we're going to store until we move into a new place. (Fingers crossed it won't be too long.) Saturday evening is free.

Sunday morning I'll start teaching the 2 & 3 year old preschool class at my church's Sunday school. I taught kindergarten last year, which was a blast, but I think 2 & 3 year olds will be less prep-work and perhaps more fun! Sunday afternoon our realtor is having another open house, so we're taking our dog to the dog park. It also happens to be the library booksale at a big warehouse near the park, so we may go there too. Sunday night I will study again and gear up for school starting.

  • Tonight I'm going to happy hour to welcome some new people who just joined our agency, and then heading home to watch Glee & other taped stuff with Jen and eat the mirza (smoky eggplant dish) I made last night on a whim, even though we'd already eaten.

Tomorrow we have a doggie playdate in the morning, and I'm not sure if I'm going (it's a friend of Jen's) or staying home to work on our training schedule for Oct.-Jan. We're supposed to start Oct. 5th and we're going to NYC next weekend, so I want to get it done this weekend.

Sunday is up in the air. We don't have any fun $ after getting our car repaired, registered, insured, etc., so maybe we'll just take a drive :) Or possibly see a matinee. I want to see Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and Jen wants to see Jennifer's Body.

  • We were out of town till Tuesday and then I was busting tail Weds/Thurs since I am out again today to take L to a medical procedure which she can't drive after (I am in the hospital now waiting.....)

Tonight will be low key.  After the kids go to bed we'll watch a bunch of stuff on DVR (if L stays awake - anesthesia always makes her sooooo tired.)

Tomorrow I am taking the kids to their first sports sampler class (it is parent participation and I am soooo not a sportsy person.)  I am not sure what we'll do after.  There are a bunch of fairs/fetivals/etc - maybe we'll hit up one of those while L gets her haircut.  We're babysitting our friend's son for a few hours tomorrow evening.

Sunday - I am sure Costco will be involved and probably the grocery store.  I also need to finish tagging for the consignment sale next weekend.

Every week I wonder what you get everyweek at costco????  When ever we go to costco or bjs for things we leave with a pack of 45 paper towel rolls.  Just wondering?

  • Tonight we have no plans and will watch dvr stuff (top chef and project runway)

Tomorrow a friend is coming over for a visit and then S is going to a going away party for a friend so the bubs and I will be flying solo.

Sunday we are going up to NH and little Ella is meeting big Ella (S's grandma!)  we are so excited about this.  S's grandparents have not met Ella yet so this is going to be a big day!

We go to BJs or Sam's Club every other weekend and we always get:

Dog Food, Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, Artichoke Hearts, Olives, Water, Beer, Avocados, English Muffins, Detergent

We might not get each of those things every week but those are our staples. Particularly the artichoke hearts and olives.  When our stock is dry I'm a "bad housewife" - lol!

  • I've been up to my eyeballs in canning projects, and most likely it will continue through the weekend.  I have greengage plums waiting to become jam; apples for sauce; and pears to can - looking at poached pear recipes so they will be something fancy like pears poached in wine, for quick desserts.  We're picking tomatoes today at a friend's, so those will have to go on the list as well.

We might have a friend staying a while over the weekend, which would be nice so I have some company.   Holly will be busy Saturday with meetings and Farmer's Market prep, then busy most of Sunday with the market itself.   It's the last weekend of the market, and while I'll miss the fresh produce I am so excited to get my wife back!!

I also need to do some scrapbooking.  I'm working on a blank 8x8 album for a friend's shower gift.  It's partway there, but I need to buckle down and finish before next weekend.

Well, we used to have to buy diapers/pull-ups (NO MORE!) and when you have 2 in them (in different sizes) you go through one of those boxes in 1.5 weeks (and in the beginning it was more like a week.) Sigh. And wipes. We also had to buy formula once I started having to supplement.

Now we get soy milk (the boys go through a 3 pack (1.5 gallons) in about 5 days, fruit (we can go through a big thing of strawberries and blueberries in 3-4 days and a bunch of grapes and bananas in a week), paper towels, a rotisserie chicken, string cheese, American cheese slices, popsicles (in the summer), Goyogurt/fruit snacks/freeze dried apples/little bags of pretzels for the kids lunches, Boca burgers, Uncrustables, garbage bags, laundry detergent, fabric softner, some cleaning stuff....and then assorted stuff (books/Christmas toys/batteries/etc.)

So while we might not get these things each week, we almost always need something (especially fruit!)  Life is much different as a family of 4! :)
