In the early planning stages for a late Nov baby shower for a boy.
I've been googling, been through all the martha stewart stuff, etc, but I want to look at more good, modern baby shower ideas (Martha's are good, but I want more!). I've seen some GREAT ones in random blogs that people have posted, but most of the stuff I'm finding googling is very "I went to Party City and bought an "it's a boy!" banner" bleh.
Any blogs or sites that you know of that have great inspiration photos and ideas?
Re: Baby Shower Inspiration

Just click hwtm blog.
HWTM is one of my fave blogs too. They have some great shower inspiration.
I just had to write that you made me laugh with your Party City banner above. I soooo understand what you mean. I think the key is to not buy the banner or anything else that comes with a "set theme" and just go with colors and things that go-together and match with out having the same logo on everything.
For a "modern" boy, some things that come to mind are patters: plaid, stripes, argyle, polka dots.
Good luck!

dito to HWTM as well as sticking with a color palette and finding things that coordinate rather than the buy it all in a package matchy, matchy stuff.
good luck!
ugh I agree...I hate the matchy thing. Does she have bedding yet? Is she doing a theme in the nursery? I use that as a starting point if I can.
If not-- I do love the stripes idea. HWTM is very good, and fun to read through.
I did an animals/zoo theme for my sister because that was her bedding, and we did not buy one single thing from a standard theme line-we used primary colors and real toys as thematic devices (decor) threw in some leopard and zebra print fabrics on the beverage cart or the cake table and it came off like a funky fun jungle party.
