I just saw your post - and while I do not approve of you moving to NYC instead of somewhere FUN like Louisiana, I guess I'll forgive you!!
Mr. Dandy (I'm going to start using that!) has no idea - it changes pretty much everyday, I'm sure he'll have a much better idea after 3rd year when he actually gets some experience. From what I've heard, Tobias sounds brave going into psych! Everyone I've talked to said it's depressing - I think it sounds pretty interesting.

Haha!! I would LOVE to go to LA one day - I've always wanted to go to New Orleans. Maybe one magical day we'll end up getting all the way down there

I wasn't sure if you've used your H's name on here, so I thought I'd go with Mr. Dandy! You're right about getting more experience in 3rd year - that's when Tobias fully realized that he wanted to go into psych. He doesn't really like anything having to do with surgery (he says there's too much standing and no eating breaks, so it's not for him), so that cuts out a lot of areas. His mom and grandfather are psychiatrists, so he's grown up with psych around him and he always found it interesting. He wants to eventually have his own practice and use a combination psychoanalytical/pharmacological approach.
But anyway, I'm sure Mr. Dandy will love 3rd year. From what I've heard from a few med schools, it's 100x better than the first 2 years!
