Visiting Seaside this weekend

and as much as I wish the weather was going to be good, or at least not rain, I can see it is not. in the event of rain I was wondering if any of you had any sugestions close by to Seaside that we can do? We have a 1.5 year old so would like to think of some other things to do besides the aquarium. Thought you would be the perfect people to ask!

TIA!

Re: Visiting Seaside this weekend

  • We stopped at the aquarium last time we were on the coast and I thought it was depressing -- it also won't take up much time.

If you're going to be there all weekend, I'd suggest heading down to Newport. It's a bit of a trek but the Oregon Coast Aquarium is down there and it's amazing, along with the Mark Hatfield Center (forgot the full name).

Cannon Beach is a short drive from Seaside and you can poke around in the shops, etc. Better food options than Seaside too.

  • I will also tell you to avoid the aquarium in Seaside.  Cannon Beach is only 1/2 hour away and MUCH nicer and cleaner.  Or drive down to Newport and hit the aquarium there, it's nice and really big and will easily take up 2 hours (or more).  Also there's a Coach outlet in Lincoln City!  Big Smile

Oh also the TILLAMOOK CHEESE FACTORY is so much fun!!!!  And that's all inside as well.
