Visiting Seaside this weekend
and as much as I wish the weather was going to be good, or at least not rain, I can see it is not. in the event of rain I was wondering if any of you had any sugestions close by to Seaside that we can do? We have a 1.5 year old so would like to think of some other things to do besides the aquarium. Thought you would be the perfect people to ask!

We stopped at the aquarium last time we were on the coast and I thought it was depressing -- it also won't take up much time.
If you're going to be there all weekend, I'd suggest heading down to Newport. It's a bit of a trek but the Oregon Coast Aquarium is down there and it's amazing, along with the Mark Hatfield Center (forgot the full name).
Cannon Beach is a short drive from Seaside and you can poke around in the shops, etc. Better food options than Seaside too.
I will also tell you to avoid the aquarium in Seaside. Cannon Beach is only 1/2 hour away and MUCH nicer and cleaner. Or drive down to Newport and hit the aquarium there, it's nice and really big and will easily take up 2 hours (or more). Also there's a Coach outlet in Lincoln City!
Oh also the TILLAMOOK CHEESE FACTORY is so much fun!!!! And that's all inside as well.
