Spray on tan?

I have a wedding in FL mid November and I want to go somewhere and get a spray on tan.  I've never done this before but my friends have and they always come out really natural looking. I know there is Mystic tan... wdyt about that? OR I could go somewhere and have it done professionally. Any recs?

Re: Spray on tan?

  • I've done Mystic and liked it. You've seen how pale I am and it actually looked good! It's kind of tricky to get it right, so you really want to do it a few times beforehand and use lots of barrier cream.

  • Hmmm.... Folawns does it for $50.  I'm wondering if it might be worth it to have it prof. done...

  • I did mystic tan the day before my BIL's wedding. I had never done it before, but it came out great. Just make sure you put the barrier cream on and when you get out really towel off (atleast that is what I did).

If you are worried, go to Folawns, you know they will do a good job.

  • I've done the mystic and have had great results. Like Stephanie said it takes a bit of practice to get the right amount of barrier cream in the right places, but I think that would be the same even if someone was spraying you. You'd probably still have to towel off really well with either one. I would do it the Thursday before the Saturday wedding, that way if you do end up with build up or a random streak you'd have time for it to fade a bit or to rub it out. Oh, and exfoliate really well before you get it too.

  • Mystic tan is great

Do it once her in the next few weeks so you can get the hang of the barrier cream - you don't want orange palms.  Palm Beach Tan in the Vineyard is pretty reasonable.  Make sure you tell them it is your first time so that they really go over al the directions with you.   also, don't use the shower cap or booties - it ends up leaving a line.
