Help from you experienced botanists!

Hi ladies!  I love plants and have a lot in our apartment.  I was just moving things around, watering, etc and saw that my aloe has a lot of little bugs flying around it (yuck)!  Any quick ideas on what I can do to get rid of them?  Can I spray anything on (I'm thinking vinegar would kill my aloe)...

Also - our cat loves to eat the plants - especially my spider plants.  Now that it's getting cold I had to move them inside.  I put them up high on a bookshelf but am nervous that they won't be getting enough light - it'll all be indirect.  Will this be okay?  Might just have to give them to my parents for the winter!

Thanks in advance for your help!
