Re: polyvisol tastes nasty
LOL, did you have some?
Alex takes it and we've never had a prob. We mix it in with his yogurt in the morning!
Breastfed babies really should get some sort of supplemental vitamin D. There isn't enough of it in breastmilk and the current recommendations re: sun exposure mean most are not getting enough from the environment. Plus living the in northeast means the UV rays are insufficient most of the year.
My pedi recommended starting it at her 2 months appt and I've been a bad mommy and just started it today. They only need the Vitamin D. PolyViSol has a lot of other vitamins and minerals. I really only wanted the TriViSol but Wally World only had it with added iron which could cause constipation.
Anyway, I figured I should taste it and OMG it is so nasty. She spit most of it out. The moms on 0-6 said to add it to a pumped bottle.
Great info, Sarah! Thanks
Wouldn't it make the BM taste funny? I bet it will be a lot easier when he gets older, like Alex, and we can add it to yogurt!
