A few of you have already heard this story, but I'll share it with the board since it's so slow today...
H cut down our butterfly bush yesterday and piled the branches up next to our driveway (garbage and trash trucks come tomorrow). Here, you don't have to bag things...just pile them up at the street.
Biitchy neighbor that lives diagonally across from us (who I've never met even though I've lived here 3 yrs) knocks on my door about an hour ago...I open the door, she has a scowl on her face and proceeds to introduce herself as the neighbor across the street (never tells me her name or anything). She tells me "I just wanted to let you know that it's like an obstacle course coming down our entire street right now"....I said "oh really?" (thinking she was going to warn me about street work or something else) - and then she follows with "whatever you guys cut down yesterday, it's now all over the road and you need to go clean it up" and then walks away...the tone of her voice was like I just burned down her house.
I wish I would have taken a photo. There was ONE branch that had blown across the street (the opposite direction of her house) - so it was at the base of the curb two houses down - the other direction. It wasn't blocking the road at all...it may have stuck out 12 inches max onto the actual pavement...but that was it. I live in a cul-de-sac so our road gets little traffic...that one branch was doing no harm at all.
Sure, if I had seen it, I would have picked it up, but it really wasn't some big deal like she made it out to be. The effort she took in coming over and being a biitch to me, she could have easily grabbed the branch and thrown it back into our pile - it was tiny.
If you are really SO bothered by a branch, how about ASKING the neighbor to resolve the situation not TELLING them they need to go clean it up.
It literally took me about 30 seconds to walk out my door, grab the branch and toss it on the pile...I have no idea why some people feel the need to be biitchy about something so minor.
An obstacle course?? Really? Really?
Re: Biitchy Neighbors (long, but since it's slow...)
So annoying!! Some people have way too much time and spend it worrying about other people. DH's parents have a neighbor like that. Good luck with her!
Oh my gosh. Who behaves this way? I kind of don't understand what people think when they do things like this. I never get why people go out of their way to be rude, even on message boards. It's like get a life!
Sorry for the annoyance. It sucks that you have to live in close proximity to such a b!tch. ?

Yeah this is the same neighbor whose husband told my H that he needed to move his work trailer. His work trailer is no wider than a standard car and was parked in front of our house for a few hours. He made this big ordeal and said it made it so incredibly difficult for him to get out of his driveway while the trailer was parked there and proceeded to ask H to move it forward (so it blocked a different neighbor's driveway).
This guy drives a standard pickup truck but with the way he was acting you would think he was trying to get an 18 wheeler out of his driveway. Sure it sucks when people park behind your driveway and you have to pay extra attention when backing out...but it was temporary and had never happened before...was it really that big of an issue? Not our problem that you can't drive well!!
I'm beginning to think these people have serious issues.
I keep hearing the wind blow so I'm now hoping that the entire pile has really blown out into the street now. Guess who WON'T be answering the door when the doorbell rings this time?
I second this... great idea!!
Our stupid neighbor actually hit DH's truck because he parked behind her driveway - I'm pretty sure she did it on purpose but he didnt have a choice, the whole neighborhood has 1 car garages and there were a bunch of people on the street that night. She claims she can't turn her head well enough and that's why she hit it. I seriously told her maybe she shouldnt be driving then. Her insurance company finally paid us the damages about 6 months after it happened. Can you tell I really want to move?

Wow! That's ridiculous! I don't like our neighborhood at all...or at least not our street. The people on our end are snotty or keep to themselves too much. We just had a young couple move in a few doors down, so I'm looking forward to meeting them and hoping they are normal. I'm super jealous of a street that's just a couple of streets over...they have a ton of young couples on it and do get togethers and cookouts all the time.
The only cool thing about where we are is that H's cousin lives 3 doors down and has a pool and sits right on the lake...
People who can't handle driving huge cars and trucks shouldn't have them. Period. Yes, they are big, they are extra work to maneuver and you CAN'T FIT INTO COMPACT CAR SPACES NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY. but you signed up for it. Suck it up or buy a smaller car.
