One last question for you....Because I am due in January do you think it would be better to wait until after the baby being "interrupted" for lack of a better word, midway through the program/year?

I'm not sure it would probably depend on the program you go through. With ACT we had about four weeks of evening classes and all day Saturday that we did. After we were hired by a school we had to complete a one year being monitored by the program that included 4 observations by the program and monthly meeting with our supervisor from the program.
It really would depend on the program you are going through if you have to take time off in the middle. One of the teachers at my school was sent for training by the reserves during her time and I don't think there was an issue with it.
I will say your first couple of years teaching can pretty hectic, though I'm not sure about PE. I know I spent a lot of time at school my first two years and finally cut back this year but I was teaching core subjects with lots of papers to grade and I taught state tested subjects which adds a lot of pressure.
