Need a restaurant rec near La Cantera area
Hi! I'm an Austin nestie. I went to high school in SA but I graduated from Taft in '95 and haven't been back a lot since. DH and I will be going to a "Weekend to Remember" marriage conference in November at The Westin La Cantera. We're supposed to plan a "date night" for Saturday and I'm at a loss as to where would be a nice romantic place to go.
Re: Need a restaurant rec near La Cantera area
There's a nice restaurant at Boerne Stage Road & I-10 called The Grille at Leon Springs. Its about a 5-10 minute drive up I-10 (away from town) from La Cantera. Dinner will be $30-$40 per person, depending on if you get an appetizer, salads, desert, etc. It's excellent food. If they have the pork chop on the menu - GET IT!
Silo is at Blanco & 1604 - again, about a 10 minute drive from La Cantera. Great food. I haven't been to the 1604 location but their other location in town is lovely and definitely a special occasion restaurant.
Everything else in that area is chain restaurants that will mostly be noisy and rushed. These restaurants will let you take your time at dinner so you can talk.
I totally forgot about the Grey Moss Inn!! I won't be telling DH this of course but when I was in high school, that's where my boyfriend and I went to celebrate me getting into UT
