i get why she's skeptical, because there have been plenty of hoaxes before, but it's just sad that spreading the word about something this tragic can cause doubt.  especially since so many others on the local board knew her personally.

There's always bound to be someone that will question things like this.  It's really sad, but I won't flame the poster because unless she knew her personally, or was a reg on the bump or IE board, I can kind of see where she's coming from given her past experience.

i know, i really do understand why the OP would be concerned.  although i think i'd just skip over the posts if i doubted their legitimacy - i would be too afraid of being wrong and looking like a total douchebag.

Yeah, I keep certain things to myself, like in this case I probably wouldn't have said anything.  But then again there are more than a few times that people say things on MM that shock me.

I can understand her skepticism based on her past experiences, but I don't understand why the OP felt the need to draw so much attention to it. The follow-up queries about no obituary yet, who set up the PO box, who set up the paypal, etc. was just overkill. Apparently my use of "allegation" was too strong of a word, but the inferences were pretty damn clear.

I think sometimes people have to make a point regardless of how much a douche they look like doing it.
