I was offered a job there on Tuesday and I'm 99% sure I'm taking it. I'm not sure about the living situation, though. Right now, we're ik Paducah, KY and my husband is considering a return to school, and by attending WKU in Bowling Green, we wouldn't pay out of state tuituion.
I attended DLU and have wanted to return to Nashville ever siince I returned to Murray for grad school. LIving in Sumner co. would be close enough for me. The job is in Portland, which according to mapquest is 41 miinutes to Bowling Green, 40 minutes to nashville, and 2:45 home to Paducah.
Is anyone familiar with that area? Can you rec. a real estate agent?
What about White House, TN?
TIA!
Re: anyone familiar with Sumner County?
Hi there I don't have too much information for you, but thought I'd chime in since it wouldn't surprise me if we ended up in Sumner Co. one day! I'm not ready to move out of "metro" quite yet, but if we ever do we will likely move north since my family is in Kentucky, too.
Also, DH grew up in Sumner Co. and all my inlaws have always lived there. He grew up in Hendersonville, my SIL and her family now live in Goodlettsville - MIL and FIL are probably considered Goodlettsville too, actually. DH was in a flag football league in H'ville with some of his high school friends a few months ago, and every time we went up there there were new neighborhoods and shopping districts popping up - really cool. Indian Lake Village, I think the new area is called?
Anyways, as for White House, I don't know too much about it but I am up there for work from time to time - it seems like a really neat town, but definitely has more of a small town feel that some other areas, so it depends on what you're looking for.
I'm not sure that I would rush to live in Portland, to be honest, although that's not based on anything other than DH expressing his (perhaps unfounded!) opinions based on growing up in the area.
I know this doesn't help much but I wanted to give you a response! GL whatever you decide!
