West Loop?

Looking for a new apartment, and a bunch of great ones keep coming up in the West Loop?  I know this is an up-in-coming area, but can anyone provide their opinion?  Thanks!

Re: West Loop?

  • it really depends on WHERE in West Loop.   The areas around Randolph or Greek Town are great.  lots to walk to, nightlife, restaurants, etc.  University Village/Tri-Taylor is pretty nice, too.     but other places are more sparsely developed and can be less than safe.   is there a certain spot you're looking at?   Its kind of a big area.

  • I agree with LC. It depends on where. Closer to United Center...ehhh. Closer to Greek Town....better. The area is up and coming, but the sketchy areas won't be getting better any time soon.
  • West Loop is expensive for the most part. Unless you go way west of Racine or South of Adams the apts can be really expensive. 1 BR condos are easily 200K. Rentals are about 1500 (most of them). You might find other stuff you like in your range - If so, page me. I lived at Lake and Racine in the warehouse district for a year, and am pretty familiar.
