Tell me why you love/hate your Kindle
I am thinking about buying one because I read all of the time and they seem pretty handy, but I'm not convinced yet that they are worth the price. If you have one, please tell me what you love or hate about it.
TIA
I've got more issues than a magazine
Re: Tell me why you love/hate your Kindle
I have the Sony reader and I love it, but I think I would have preferred a Kindle instead ( the reader was a surprise gift from the Hubs.)
The reader for me is great because of the convience factor. I definitely read more because the reader is small enough to carry in my purse I always carry it. This has come in great when I'm at lunch or waiting at the dentist/doctors office. I took it on vacation this summer with 10 books preloaded, lots of variety and saved space in my luggage. Also I'm a full time student and I've gotten several of my required texts through my e-reader, again one less book to carry.
I do wish I had the Kindle because it would be nice to be able to download books without beening connected to a computer but then again I would probably spend way to much on impulse buys.
I have the Sony reader and love it! You can carry a ton of books with you at any given time, which comes in especially handy when on vacation or even a road trip.
With the sony reader, you can read multiple types of files such as PDFs, etc. and you can check books out from libraries that offer ebooks (Denver Public Library is one of them). I think that the Kindle is limited to only the amazon.com store format.
Sony has a ebook store that's alarmingly similar to iTunes, so I haven't had any issues getting my books loaded.
