Maya's 18 month check up

Everything is fine, except her weight, she only weights 21 lbs! I know 10 month olds that weigh more than that! She eats more chocolate than anyone I know, so I have no idea how she's not packing on the lbs! The doctor says that since she was such an early walker (9 months old) that she just runs it all off! I need to start giving her protein shakes or something!

Wow! At least she's healthy regardless of what she weighs, right? I'm glad she had a good check up! Did the doctor seem concerned?

Alex is the same way. I think he's about 22 lbs, but he walked at 9 mos, too, and hasn't stopped since!

Is that a bad thing? I would think she is just petite?

I don't think it's a bad thing. It just means she's on the smaller side. As long as she's grown steadily, the doctors will be happy. She's just running it all off, it sounds like!

Glad she had a good appointment, I wouldn't worry about the weight unless the doctor was concerned.

Brianna is only 20lbs and we go for her 18 month in July.  I actually think she lost weight like 1-2 lbs.  But, she has a healthy appetite and she VERY active.. so I think like Maya, she just burns it all off.  But, I"m glad to hear that everything else is A. OK!!  = )

    I am glad the appt went well, how did her shots go? Did she wail like a baby?  When does the wailing end??

Ok, so I probably shouldn't tell you that is the same as what Caroline weighs...... She's 70th percentile, though, I believe (for height and weight) so she is a BIG GIRL.  She's going to be able to beat the crap out of her big brother any moment now and I can see it coming!!!

She is also now crawling and just started pulling to stand so I have a feeling weight gain will now taper off for her just as it did for Jakob once he started becoming mobile (he has clothes from late last sumer that still fit him, which is cool).

As long as the doctor is not concerned, I wouldn't be too much either

Thanks for all the reassurance girls! I know she is just fine, but the way the doctor talked about her anemia scared me a little bit. But they tested her blood again (and she didn't even cry!) and everything looked normal. As for the vaccinations she was hysterical for a matter of 3 minutes and then stopped once she got a sticker. She's just a picky eater, and not to mention, I still have her on the bottle...I swear I am working on it girls!!! haha!

 Laura, I bet Caroline's weight gain will tapper off once she's completely mobile, it's exactly what happened to Maya.

As long as she is healthy right??  I am surprised to hear give a baby protein shakes?! hmmmm, thats new :S
