Today, I ate...

a cup of decaf Irish tea with milk and sugar, and two pitted prunes, with an english muffin with strawberry rhubarb jam.

A small steakhouse beef dip with cheddar instead of swiss, a bag of baked lays dipped in honey mustard, and one cup of dill pickle chips with a lemonade.

a few more prunes, and a handful of baked lays, thank goodness I brought home honey mustard- I must have been thinking ahead. a can of coke.

Now, I'm working on dinner, but the steak I'm broiling is not remotely enticing to me. I'll probably cut some for DH and save the rest for tomorrow's lunch, and have a homemade french dip sandwich. I'm so freaking predictable. Or maybe I'll have leftover salisbury steak from last night. not sure.

Is it bad to have two french dip sandwiches in one day?

Re: Today, I ate...

  • LOL I could peg you as pregnant just by your day's food journal! (And no, you can never have too many french dip sandwiches, and there's never a bad time, day or reason to eat them, either).
  • Yeah, that's why I posted it. It made me laugh.

And I decided to reheat my salisbury and mashed from last night. :)

And I'll have a popsicle for dessert. Yum.

  • if you like chips and honey mustard have you tried the new Pringles Honey Mustard? yummy!
  • oh, sh*t. No. I didn't know they existed. Fortunately, I've never been a huge pringles fan, and it's specifically the quizno's honey mustard...but of course, I better test them...just in case.

  • Where might one try a good French Dip sandwich? I have never had one.
  • holy crap I had a bowl of steel cut oatmeal this morning and some flax plus raisin bran for lunch.

    That's totally impressive!

  • omg, steel cut oatmeal with cinnamon and raisins, OMFG.

Okay. So, it depends on how traditional you want to go. You can get one at Arby's in Pheasant Lane (You have to ask for it, it's not on the menu), you can get the Steakhouse Beef Dip at Quiznos, or you can try the 99's beef and cheddar (I think that's what it's called). For me, the 99 is totally hit or miss. I've gotten some gnarly tasting beef there and it's wrecked the whole thing for me. I recommend Arby's or Quizno's for now. Unless, you can buy your own torpedo rolls, get some thin sliced roast beef at the deli counter, and throw it in a sauce pan with some au jus to heat it through. Put the  roll with the roast beef and a little cheese (some people like caramelized onions, I'm not one of them) and toast it, then it's ripe for dipping at home. :) Those ones are always the best.

PS- I caved and had a homemade french dip.

  • Man...  lol.  You are making me hate the whole GD thing right now.  I could go for EVERYTHING you just said above and then some.  My cravings are starting to kick in (a little late) and now i cant eat alot of it....

Sigh,... i'll have to live thru you I guess.

  • Heather, do the Quiznos and Arby's ppl know you by name yet?
  • The Quizno's people...some of them know me on sight, yes. So sad.
