Re: laura

  • Oh yey!!!  Can you tell how much I love little widesmile babies???  And that's GREAT that they are getting hooked up with EI right off the bat!!!!

I have never heard of that site you mentioned but I do occasionally participate on the cleft lip/palate board on ivillage as well as a seperate, private Yahoo group that I started up recently that is only for parents/patients of Dr. Mulliken at Children's Hospital (So far that one has proved to be a GREAT resource, though, because he has patients all across the country!  It's been great to get to talk to so many more of them than I otherwise would have and to share our experiences!).

I can't wait to hear all about your new friend and, of course, I will do anything that I can to help you out!

  • I knew you would be willing to help me out! I can't wait to meet the little one!   I don't even know if the child is a boy or a girl.

This is actually the 1st baby I will be working with for EI, usually there isn't a speech concern til 15 months plus, so this will be new for me and a bit scary, and maybe a little sad because I think I will miss Owen more if I am working with a baby, I know if there is a baby in the house with an older kid I work with I think of him a lot more during the day.  Anyway, good for you for starting your own board, you rock!  The board I mentioned I saw linked from the american speech language hearing association message board, they said it was from Boston.

I also want to say that I really appreciated reading your heartfelt reply to the "other" post.

unrelated:  did you ever use the magic bullet to steam the vegetables?  I didn't realize it could do that!!

  • Yes - I always steam and puree right in the magic bullet - didn't you ever see the infomercials???  You just screw that top with the little holes on it, add a little bit of water and steam right in the micro!!!!  So EASY, huh?
