iPod got wet

well, actually it's really waterlogged.  My water bottle leaked in my purse and soaked everything.  I went to the Apple store and they told me to put it in alcohol to help evaporate the water, then seal it up in a container filled with rice for 2-3 days.

Anyone try this and be successful?

Re: iPod got wet

  • The rice thing can work, never heard about the alcohol part though. Just be sure you aren't trying to turn on your device before it's dry. I would try the rice thing though.
  • i have not personally done the rice thing, but my brother has done this with a cell phone and an ipod and had it work great
  • thanks!  i hope it works.  I am having a party in a few weeks and I need my music!

I haven't tried the alcohol method either, but I do know that it's supposed to help because it evaporates so quickly and takes most of the water with it.  The great part about alcohol, too, is that it won't ruin your electronics like water does.
