anyone see Dr. Faro?

I saw Dr. Sebastian Faro the other day for a specific problem and loved him. Does anyone see him or his wife (Connie) as their regular ob/gyn? I swear someone mentioned it a while back.

Re: anyone see Dr. Faro?

  • hahaha...Dr. Connie Faro is his niece!  She's really young.  And yes, she's my new doctor and I LOVE HER!!!  I didn't think I would ever replace my dr that moved to clear lake, but she referred me to Dr. Faro and they have the exact same manner and kindness.  I highly recommend her.  and added plus is that she does all the ultrasound (even the big one).

  • I thought she looked young in her picture but thought maybe he was just robbing the cradle! Actually I looked him up as an ob/gyn and he's rated one of the best- he's supposed to be an authority on pg. I went to him for a specific reason so I'm assuming I can see him as my regular ob/gyn but who knows. My only problem is I have to bring Addie and they don't really like that. (He didn't seem like he would mind but the "rules" page said things in bold print) plus she wouldn't fit in the exam room! Do you ever bring your little one?

  • I don't believe he delivers baby anymore.  I don't bring DD, but with your circumstance, i'm pretty sure they will understand.  The bold print is really referring to not having your kid treat the area like a play area or something like that.  I have seen a couple of ladies bring their little kids.  I'm pretty sure Dr. connie faro would understand.  Also...you and I both have PCOS, and I love the fact that when I told her aboutmy pregnancy and my ovaries (which were really large during my pregnancy), she wanted to take a look at them and measure them for my "baseline".  I like how she's proactive like that.

If you have any doubt, just called the reception and ask questions.  Before I went there, I asked a whole bunch...is there a long wait even if there is an appointment?  Who is her on call Dr if she's not available?  What if I was pregnan-went into labort and she went on vacation?  The reception pretty much told that they never double book and that she's very "possessive/protective" of her patients and she delivers mostly all her babies.  That was really good to hear.  I dont' like to recommend her too much because I like that fact that she's not 'that busy'..=)

  • she sounds great as a dr. how is her bedside manner? does she seem nice and helpful or all business?

sorry so many questions I really liked my dr as a person but she's just not as knowledgable in the areas I need.

  • She great.  She's professional, but also really cares.  I went to her for my prenantal check-up thinking she would tell me to lose weight before trying, but no...she said "go for it!  get pregnant for me!"  I have a fear that I will get preeclampsia again with my next pregnancy and may have the baby even eariler, but she helped me get comfortable that I will be well taken care of. If I get pregnant, she wantsto get a baseline on everything...includinga 24 hour protein test just in case I'm already spilling protein before really being pregnant pregnant.  I think you'll like her a lot.  Feel free to ask me anymore questions.

  • I didn't realize how similar we were, I had pre-e too and Addie was early. I have another appt with Dr. Sebastian next month so I'll ask him about switching to her as my ob/gyn. We're waiting till this court case is over before trying again, so a couple years probably. But I've had so many female issues I end up more often. Although hopefully Dr. Sebastian can help me actually enjoy the trying to get pg part again when the time comes.

  • yeah...I was pretty freaked out about getting pregnant again. And it doesn't help when I go onto the preeclampsia.org website because the stories are so sad.  And my pre-e was mild and my doctor at that time was just extra careful (which I LOVED).  I can tell Dr. Faro is the same way and so I got comfortable with the thought that it's okay to get pregnant again.  Now I just need to get pregnant which is also hard because I have PCOS.  hahaha  But she wants me to try on my own for a little bit since I told her that I know when I ovulate.  If it doesn't work out...we'll go to plan B.

  • I am posting a warning every place I can find regarding Dr's Sebastion and Connie Faro. I needed a hysterectomy due to pain and blood loss. I was referred to Dr Sebation Faro by an employee at my regular doctors office. I did check online and didn't find any negative feedback. He pursuaded me to get several surgeries done at the same time as the hysterectomy including pelvic mesh. I didn't want something foreign in me but Dr S Faro said my bladder needed support once my hysterectomy was completed. He did tell me there was another way to support the bladder but it was dangerous and would not last. I trusted a mature man that developed medical equipment. That was 5 years ago and my life has been turned upside down. Pelvic and abdominal pain, bleeding from mesh, incontenance, flatulence, no sexual activity. I can't ride horses, bikes and some days can barely walk due to pain and bleeding. I am continuing to search for a doctor that can help me. They have all said more surgery is required and the sling is so far embedded that they don't think it can be removed and it is damaging my bladder. A surgical student was supposed to assist Sebation Faro with my surgery. For 2 months he kept telling me he had not found an interested student. I was being preped for surgery when I was told that Constance was going to assist. So on top of the issues that started immediately after surgery I had to pay several thousands dollars to pay Constance. My insurance wouldn't pay for 2 surgeons. Beware people, doctors do not always know what is best. We trust our doctors and we should be able to. I hope no one has to go through what I am going through.
