Re: What is for dinner?

  • Depending on my level of laziness when I get home, either spaghetti and tofu balls or leftover pumpkin/cashew curry. The pumpkin curry is good, but I've been eating it all week and am so tired of it. But if I'm feeling lazy, it'll be a leftovers night.

Can you tell I live with a vegetarian?

  • No clue.  I really don't feel like cooking so I'm hoping K will fend for herself and I can just have soup and grill cheese.

  • Tomato soup and grilled cheese sounds good! It is quick and easy to make...hmmm

We are out of leftovers, so I am either cooking or picking up fast food.

Maybe I can convince C about having soup and grilled cheese...sounds yummy!

  • L is at school tonight so I am flying solo.  I might make the boys some rice with veggies and chicken nuggets - unless they have a special request on the way home (last night they begged for mac and cheese and Boca burgers.) Yea, call me Gourmet Mom. Embarrassed

I have some pre-marindated frozen salmon that sounds good for me (they refuse to eat fish), but I hate the way it stinks up the house and it takes forever to cook b/c is it frozen.  So, who knows what I'll do.  I am hoping it is a low key night for us.  The last couple of nights have been....well, exhausting.

  • i have the same complaint about salmon...so, we end up eating it a bunch in the summer (when i can grill it) and almost never in the winter.

Depending on how much energy I have when we get back from babysitting, we're either pulling chili out of the freezer and throwing it in the microwave (at least its homemade?) or having fajitas.

  • i'm not sure. i think the plan is smoked turkey sausage with potatoes and cauliflower and some other green veggie. that might change, though, depending on how long it takes to get some other things done and how wiped out we are.
  • We eat dinner REALLY late around here, like 10:30p b/c thats when Julie gets off work. Anyways, it's Tuna Melts and Tomato Soup in this house.

  • I was thinking leftover manicotti or chile, but then K offered to take me out.  We're going to Agave!  Yum :)
  • A nap!

Seriously, even though I happen to be super hungry right at the moment, what I want most is to go to sleep! I am exhausted.

I might be able to be talked into tomato soup and grilled cheese (it does sound good), but I had tomato soup for lunch so that might have to be dinner tomorrow instead. I don't care much one way or the other what I eat, as long as I get to sit in bed and have DW bring it to me!! (And I am not even kidding-- today is such a dinner-in-bed kind of day! Smile)

  • Not sure yet. We're going to a (free!) screening of Whip It, so we may eat out afterward. After that no eating out until Sunday or Monday (whichever is insem day!).

  • S bought one of those rot. chickens at whole foods today and we had wild rice and ceaser salad.  It was yummy but as usual I had to shovel food in my mouth because someone decided she wanted to eat too!

  • Best laid plans...

We did a couple errands on the way home and it was after 7:30 by the time I got the kids home and out of the bathe (they were filthy!)  Turkey dogs, string cheese, and grapes for them while I prepped their lunches for tomorrow. Dinner of champions.  Embarrassed

I still don't know what I am going to eat. But I am starving.

  • We had breakfast for dinner! By the time Thursday rolls around, I am so over cooking that breakfast-for-dinner has become a weekly thing.
