Did you have a Christian Witness for Kaelyn's baptism? If so, do you mind telling me if he/she had to be of another faith?

We decided to have my oldest brother who is a practicing Catholic be Austin's Godparent and Tom really wants his brother to be able to participate in the baptism some way...so we thought maybe we could ask for him to be a Christian Witness....but unfortunately he is not baptized into any religion, so I think that may be a problem...if you don't know, then I'll just email Deacon Dave...

 TIA!

  • We just had godparents.  Kaelyn's Godfather is Catholic, and her Godmother is Greek Orthodox.  I am not sure about the Chritian Witness, but I am sure if you ask Deacon Dave, or call and talk with Father Aggie they should be able to help you.  Have you thought about having him do a reading to participate in that way?

  • Hmmm....no I haven't, I know my BIL wouldn't want to be the center of attention like that. Tom is gung-ho about his brother being involved in some way - on one hand I understand, but on the other hand I'm kind of aggravated too, because Tom isn't Catholic or anything and really shouldn't be upset if his brother can't be involved (who isn't of any faith either)...I'm sure this is something he and I need to sit down and discuss....perhaps even with Fr. Aggie.
