Hi, when is the best time to replant outdoor ferns?

You might have better luck, but we have never moved one and had it live. They have a huge mass of roots.

Interesting that others have had bad luck, b/c I have transplanted ferns many times, with good success. Fall is a good time to transplant. Just trim them back and keep them watered.
