weight age or marriage

Does anyone else feel like they have packed on a couple of pounds since the wedding.  I'm wondering if it is that I'm married or if it's that I'm getting older and have a desk job.  Or the harsh reality....I just need to excersise more, and eat better.  *sigh*

Re: weight age or marriage

  • YES!!! I totally agree with you.  I got married in January and in six months I have put on 10 pounds.  I feel like a lot of it is age also.  The gaining part is just my fault, but it seems like it is harder to loose it now.  I used to be able to just eat a little and work out and the weight came right back off but it isn't now.  I feel like for the rest of my life I'm going to be dieting and all I want is a cheesburger, fries, and a beer from Rocky's.  :(

  • SES- I feel so much bettter-- since we got married at the exact same time and I've done the exact same thing- for all the same rationale. I just started back with a trainer, but motivation is so hard.
  • yeah, it happened to me too. we completely remodeled our kitchen right after we got married so we ate out almost every night for five months. now, that we are ten days away from our first anniversary i am almost down to my wedding weight. my hubby and i made a bet with one another to get back into shape. dont get down about it, i am pretty sure all married couple go through this...just dont let it get out of control! we still want our hubbies to think we're hot...right!? ha ha.

  • My wedding was a little over a year ago and im up 15 lbs (20 at my worst im sure a two week vacation didnt help that one...)  I am starting to eat healthy again, i just rebelled after the wedding and all my diet/workout mentality went out the window. Another friend who got married about 10 months ago has the same approx weight gain.  You are not alone!!!  I just feel gross now, especially now that its summer and you can't cover up with layers :(

We just got Wii Fit so now at least i'm accountable to my weight, it has a tracked recored of whether I am gaining or not :-/

  • I've gained weight too.  I think it's a combo of weight, age and marriage.  I've been working out but also eating out.  I need to keep up with the workouts and eat healthier.
  • I always say the first year is the worst. I packed on 15lbs +. I even stopped weighing myself.

Luckily i got my crap together and lost almost 50lbs. and now am smaller than I was on my wedding day.  My husband is the best for his support.

BUt seriosuly that 1st year is a killer

  • I am up a good 10 pounds since my wedding last April.  I haven't been exercising and I am not eating as well as I was before the wedding, so that is why.  I can definitely tell that my metabolism has slowed as well.  Once I hit 28, it all went downhill and it continues to get worse every year.  :(

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • It will be 3 years in September and no matter how hard I try, I can't get down to that weight! (I def need to try harder though). I had lost weight for the wedding, and totally gained it all back within a few months, and now I think its just age, too!

    :(

  • Thanks ladies....I am not alone.  I guess we all know the truth but it hurts to actually admit it.  Good luck to everyone in reaching their goals!

  • I've put on 15 pounds since our wedding 13 months ago.  I know for me it's my bad eating habits and AGE.  Arg, I hate to tell you ladies, but after 35 the weight really doesn't want to come off.  I want to drop at least 10 of these pounds before we start trying for a baby in August, but if not, I'll just worry about it after.  I was in a bikini 5 months after giving birth to our daughter, but I was also 34 and extremely motivated.  Hopefully that will happen again next time Wink (tho I'll be pushing 40 so I'm sure it will be a fight).

  • Sorry, I had to put down the cupcakes before I could answer. I was up 17 pounds from wedding weight. I've lost 5 and want to lose another 10. Ugh. Why do I love eating?

  • I have actually lost weight since our wedding. I am clearly the odd man out. The college weight just keeps falling off. Thank God. I gained a ton of weight eating Jack in the Box tacos and McDonalds $1 Menu items...so now that I am out of school, I am doing a lot better.
