Potted Gerber Daisy...

My husband brought home a potted Gerber daisy the other day, which was very sweet of him, but I am ridiculously bad at keeping plants alive. How hard are Gerber daisies to maintain? Any tips?

 Thank you!

Re: Potted Gerber Daisy...

  • Well, they are annuals.    So it's not the kind of thing where you will nuture it for decades.  And kind of summer flowers so if it's cold out by you, you're going to need to keep it inside.

Make sure it gets lots of sun and check it every 3 days or so for water (ONLY water if the soil, when you stick your finger in it, is dry)

  • I learned from my aunt that believe it or not, Gerber's like bad soil. Re-pot it in a rocky, sandy soil.  I did that to a couple of mine and they thrived.  Don't let them get too wet or too dry.
