Hello!

Hello ladies--

I just wanted to introduce myself. I was a knottie until i got married this june and decided to move over to the Nest.

I am originally from Louisville, but went to UK, met H, and now we live in Lexington.  I am in law school and H is in sales.  We have a dog and a cat that are basically our children and are in the process of trying to sell our home quickly so we can put a bid on our dream home (so if you know anyone, our house is fabulous, haha!)

Thanks!
Lauren

Re: Hello!

  • Hi there! I got married in May 2008 and haven't posted on The Nest much (I, too, was more of a Knottie), but my husband and I just moved to Lexington from Florida, so I thought this might be a good way to "meet" people. This board seems to be pretty slow but maybe it will liven up! Welcome, and good luck with the house! Smile

  • thanks! i'll try not to hold the FL thing against you! haha. this board does seem slow, someone needs to liven it up.
  • welcome!  i'm from Louisville, went to UK (GO CATS!) and am back in Lou.  congrats on your wedding and good luck w/ that dream home!
  • Yep, I'm one of the few Gators in these parts....getting used to being in enemy territory, though! :)

  • I just wanted to say Hi too! This is my first post on a Nestie board. Hubby and I got married June 6th and we just bought a house in Lexington too. We also have a dog and a cat that we treat like children :) Lol- I'm a Pathologists Assistant and H is an electrician. Welcome :)

  • Hey guys!

I totally agree that we need to liven up this board.  I am from the Lexington Area, but went to college at Western Kentucky University and now live in Bowling Green!  I am 25 and got married last October 4th.  I didn't really post much on theknot.  I post regularly on the October 08 board, so if you need me, page me!

Any ideas on how we can get all of the KY nesties to start posting over here?

  • hi MsWildcat - I remember you from TK. I hardly ever come to this board but if it livens up a bit I will try to come over more. I also got married 6/6 and we are looking to buy a new house as well. Will and I live in Louisville in the hikes point area with our dog Storm. I am a beginner quilter, a grad student, a full-time worker and just plain awesome.

  • You're not kidding about this board being slow! I just never think about it, since it's at the bottom of the boards list.  DH and I both went to Transy, and we just bought a house here.  War Eagle (even after Saturday...at least y'all have basketball season to look forward to)!

    BTW, welcome!

  • Yeah, this board can be really slow.

I'm a KY native, just moved back to the Bluegrass in September after going to school at the U of Arkansas and working in DC for almost two years.  DH and I got married back on May 30th, and a month later I got my transfer orders for Bowling Green.  We took a house hunting trip in August and found our first house.

We just adopted two kittens, who we bring home from the shelter on Thursday.  Aside from that, I'm fairly boring: work, home, attempted writing (I'm going to try National Novel Writing Month in November), taking care of the kittehs, and pretending I know how to be an adult.  :)

When it's all said and done, what matters most is your relationships with other people; without good friends and family, what's the point?

  • Quiet One, good luck with National Novel Writing Month. I am an editor, so a lot of the writers that I work with have mentioned it. It's a neat (not to mention ambitious) idea!
