Such unnecessary violence
It makes me sick to think of all the youth on youth violence in Chicago, the most recent beating of Demion Albert being just one a fellow human being with a tire iron .I don't know if we're the murder capital of America, but we're certainly up there.. I don't have any easy answers or solutions, but know that something has to be done. No doubt all the publicity generated by this beating did not help Chicago's cause in getting the Olympics.

A former student of mine was killed last week. Shot in the back of the head.
This happens at least once a year.
