Madison to Twin Cities--any flooding problems?
We're headed to a wedding this weekend. Has anyone heard if there's traffic issues on I-94 going from Madison to the Cities? Do I need to allow extra time? According to the DOT map everything is clear, but I wanted to know if that's accurate. TIA!
Re: Madison to Twin Cities--any flooding problems?
I'll reply to my own post to give an update of my weekend driving.
We had no problems with roads being flooded or closed. We passed through the Johnson Creek/1-lane cross-over thing at about 6:30am on Saturday morning so traffic was light and moved without a problem. We picked up our friends in Madison and no problems on I-94 going to or from the Twin Cities.
However, after dropping friends back off in Madison then going home to Milwaukee Sunday at 3:30pm, we were stuck in VERY BAD traffic to get back over that 1-lane cross-over thing. It took us about 1.5 hours to move 9 miles.
Moral of the story: Go early between Madison & Milwaukee. And watch out for Sunday afternoons when the IL people are all returning from their weekends in Wisconsin.
