Cellphone/Smartphone recs

I would like some recs for phones other than iPhones.  I want one that also has a keyboard with keys, not just on the touch screen.

Re: Cellphone/Smartphone recs

  • Are there any other specifics you are looking for?

A smartphone coming out soon with both a touchscreen and a full keyboard is the Motorola CLIQ, which is coming to T-Mobile and is loaded up with the Android OS.  My wife has the MyTouch, and I can't describe how much we love Android and how incredibly easy it is to use.  It also has the added benefit over the iPhone of being much much more customizable.

  • Before I got an iPhone, I had an AT&T Tilt.  I loved the QWERTY keyboard on it.
  • Thanks for the comments.  I am coming up for an upgrade and am unsure of what to get.  I am on AT&T now.
  • I have the BlackBerry Curve and really enjoy it.

Don't rule out the other carriers just because you're currently on AT&T!  There are tons of good phones out there.

  • I'm through Verizon and have an LG envV Touch.  I really like it.  It is touch screen, but it flips up with a QWERTY keyboard.  My DS has the enV 3 and likes that just as well.
  • I second the Android recommendation.  The G1 has a full keyboard and the upcoming Cliq will have one as well.  These are T-mobile plans.  Go to your local store and play with an Android phone so you can get used to the OS.  Also check your data coverage to see if you would have 3G.
