Pumpkin Farm in West Suburbs?

DH and I are fairly new to the area, and would like to take DD to a kid-friendly (and relatively cheap/free) pumpkin patch this fall.

Anyone know of any around the West Suburbs?  Or any other family Halloween/fall events around?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Pumpkin Farm in West Suburbs?

  • We go to Sonny Acres on North Ave in West Chicago.  I have been going there as long as I can remember!  There was a post about this a week or two ago if you wanna scroll down and see some other options too.

  • Have you looked at the Forest Preserve offerings?  I know Danada has a festival on the 11th.

  • Thanks to both of you- I really appreciate it.  I will look into each of those.  And thanks for mentioning the prior thread about them.  I had skimmed through the topics before, but somehow I missed it.

    Thanks again!

  • I'm another Sonny Acres kid! Grew up going there and drag DH every year!
  • Goeberts Farm off of 47 in Huntley is where we always go...and it's relatively cheap! They have TONS of activities and animals. They have giraffes this year too!

However, we went last weekend and they had hardly any pumplkins less than 40-45 lbs (I'm not exaggerating - my husband got a 47lbs pumpkin). We were disappointed and actually stopped at a different farm on the way home to get a normal sized pumpkin to carve!
