Let's talk football, namely the Tigers

Let me start with 5 & 0 is 5 & 0, but our boys are not looking THAT good this season. Neither the offense or defense are stellar and I'm concerned about next Saturday. It's the biggest game of the season, Florida is #1, but their schedule has been "fluffy" so far this season. It should definitely be a good game, but I have big concerns for our Tigers.

Re: Let's talk football, namely the Tigers

  • A loss to Florida is expected, but as long as they play well and don't give them the game, I'll be proud of them. They looked much better last night than they have the previous 4 weeks. Did they play great football, enough to say they deserve #4? No. But they showed up to play the game and to win. After Mississippi State, the sentiment was that LSU didn't win, Miss St. lost. That cannot be said about this game. Both teams fought for it, and LSU pulled it out. The plays were made when they needed to be made. Even Miles recognized the need for improvement on many grounds.

The coaches and team are pumped for this game. They have been since last year. I guess I'm not that concerned because this is how the Tigers have always played - poorly against the small/nothing teams, and dominating the bigger teams. We'll see how we feel next Sunday morning :)

  • Jenn, very well put.

MT, agreed.  GA is #14, LSU is #4.  That game should have been a no brainer.  It's because of games like last night that people always question LSU's "worth" in the top ten every year.  They usually pull it out in the end when it matters which is great but it'd be awesome if they could act like they belong in the top ten.

This is a true story. We play to the potential of the other team. I think our defense did pretty well last night, in the first half they stopped Georgia almost every single time. I have faith in our boys!
