Aurora Pediatricians in Milwaukee
Does anyone have suggestions on pediatricians in Milwaukee who take Aurora health insurance? We are having our first at the end of January, so we are clueless as to how to go about finding a good pediatrician. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Re: Aurora Pediatricians in Milwaukee
I am not sure what insurance they accept, but you can call and find out. DS sees Dr. Ubell at Tosa Pediatrics. I love them. I have 4 friends that go to that group as well.

We saw Dr. Ubell when we lived in Milwaukee, too. We really liked her. Right after Ben was born, she was out of town & we saw another doctor (Dr. Martin? I could be way off - it was a while ago) - he was really nice, as well. I'd definitely recommend checking & seeing they take your insurance.
Not sure what part of Milwaukee you live in, but I suggest you check out this link to Children's Medical Group clinics - all the clinics are associated with Children's Hospital - therefore your pedi would have rights at CHW if for some reason you babe needed to be admitted.
I am a nurse at CHW and see quite a few of these Dr.'s when they are doing rounds on their inpatients and I know several from when they did their residency at CHW.
I personally take my DD to Westbrook Pediatrics in Brookfield (we see Dr. Calkins, but have also seen Dr. Kirschner - they are both AMAZING!) because it is close to my house and I like the MD's who are there. I believe at all these clinics you can call ahead of time and make an appt. to meet with one or more of the MD's to get to know them/ask any questions about their beliefs/practices (this was important to us because we wanted someone who would support our decision to use an alternate vaccine schedule) and see if your personalities "click" (We did this around 34-36 weeks). It's a great way to see/meet the Dr. before actually "picking" them as your DC's pedi. We also chose the clinic we did because they have radiology and laboratory services available in case DD ever needed xrays or labwork done (we wouldn't need to go to the main campus at CHW to have that done.)
If you live more east...Dr. Melbye is at the Glendale location and is great too....I have several coworkers who take their kiddos to see him and I worked with him when he did his residency.
HTH. Let me know if you have anymore questions!
