How much do you give at a wedding?

Looking to see what other people give (I know it's what you are comfortable with..etc.), but I'm wondering what others in CT do...

Thanks!

Re: How much do you give at a wedding?

  • I understand this is valid question but I don't think you'll get a response on it.

I bet if you do a search on google, you'll see different sites that can give recommendations on wedding gifts, etc. Maybe you'll get a ball park idea that way.

  • This may be tacky, but if the couple came to our wedding, wegive them what they gave us. If not, probably 100. It depends on how close we are to the couple.
  • Honestly...we always give $300...we figure $150 each person. We have always made it a point to pay what we know it would have cost to feed us and a little extra "for them". I know I will probaly get shiit for my reply..but that is what we do...I look at what they gave me for my wedding also..if they gave more than $300 for a couple...we match what they gave us.

  • I also kept track of what we were given at our wedding and tend to match it. I want to equal the generosity if others were generous to us! I also factor in how close we are to the couple, whether we had to travel and spend extra $ to attend, and (I AM SO TACKY!) sometimes I look up what they may have paid per person for their reception. In general we give $100-200 total and adjust it depending on these factors.
