Bored in the city

I am so bored in the city. I want to do something new. Is there anything new and fun going on? Perhaps, an art exhibit, something underground or totally random? Please suggest something other than theater, restaurants, and summer festivals. I know about them all and I'm looking to do something new that I have never tried before. Please don't suggest a new bar. I can't drink right now because I'm pregnant. If there is nothing left to do in this city except go to the movies or play mini-golf, can you suggest someplace cool and interesting in the surrounding areas?

have you checked out the massive listings of things to do in Chicago magazine or Time Out?   there is more stuff to do in there than anyone could ever get to.

Metromix.com is really great.  They have information about everything going on; whether it is a concert or festival, in the city or the suburbs, you can find a lot of stuff to do there.  How far along are you in your pregnancy?  Are you new to Chicago?

Taste of Chicago started today!  They have great food and music!  Have you done the architecture tour yet?  It's one of our favorites, we recommend always, it leaves navy pier or mich and the river.....

also... not really related... but have you thought about doing some volunteer work?    i started volunteering for a homeless shelter on the west side, and have met a TON of new people and have gotten involved with planning future volunteer events, fundraisers, etc.   it keeps me much busier!    Chicago Cares is a great organization that can hook you up with hundreds of different opportunities.      just an idea!
