Cloth Diapering

Anyone in this area cloth diapering? It seems like everyone in my area thinks I am crazy for it! Anyone out there brave enough? I ordered a few at first to try them out- just ordered a few more from www.momsmilkboutique.com - If you have a child and don't cloth diaper, I would suggest checking it out- my main motivation is to save money! :) Just wondering if any other cloth diapering mamas (or papas) were around here!

Re: Cloth Diapering

  • I know there are a few...not sure if they post here as much anymore but definitely on the PA babies board.  I think LClaire actually has a cloth diaper store too.
  • I don't have kids, but I know that the women on the EFF board on the bump are a fabulous wealth of info about cloth diapers.

  • We CD too.  It's a lot easier than I anticipated and you're right, it is a great money saver!  I agree with PP, there is a ton of helpful info on EFF board.

  • I didn't use cloth on my daughter, but when we have another one I am! My Sister-In-Law swears by it. I look back and really wish I would have used them!
  • Awesome! I am excited to try out a few kinds and see what works best. So far I really like one size pocket diapers.
  • We'll be cloth diapering as well. And yes, some people think we're crazy :)
  • Awesome. I ordered a few more cloths from www.momsmilkboutique.com - So far I have tried all one-size pockets. Fuzzibunz, Happy Heiny's, and Bum Genius 3.0. We are happy with all of them! Tried snaps and velcro. Like both for different reasons. Snaps seems to hold up better through wash and wear than velcro. But Velcro is easier to use on a squirmy baby! I will probably order more of ALL of those brands, and a mix of snaps and velcro!

Still deciding how to CD my newborn (February baby). I hear one sizes are usually too big for the first month or so, but it is NOT cost effective to buy 10-15 newborn AIO's to use for 1-2 months! I might try prefolds. Might just use disposables til baby can fit into one sizes!
