Vegetarian-friendly dinner party ideas, please!
Hello, I've been looking through epicurious.com and the Food Network site but thought I'd also ask here: I am trying to come up with a menu for a vegetarian-friendly dinner party. Most of the guests are meat eaters, but I'd like to find something that pleases everyone. The vegetarians eat fish, so fish is OK, but I worry about making it for a crowd (this might be irrational; if you have a great fish recipe, I'm open!). Any ideas? I don't want to serve a veggie lasagna. I'll be cooking for 6-8 people. Thank you!
Re: Vegetarian-friendly dinner party ideas, please!
If you went with a Mexican, Italian, Indian or Middle Eastern theme, a vegetarian menu would be pretty easy.
Or you could cook a meat dish and just substitute fake meat for the real stuff. TVP makes a great alternative to ground beef, and you can find a variety of canned/frozen chicken substitutes.
Please either invite me over or share some recipes. Our favorite food is Indian, but I rarely make it myself.

St. Pete: I'm heading to the Indian spice shop after work tonight and I'll definitely post the chickpea/potato curry recipe once I figure out all the ingredients/amounts (my MIL's recipe is pretty vague, of course).
Valentine: I'd love your quesadilla recipe.
Funny, I'm a vegetarian and I married a meat eating Indian guy. I have a whole website dedicated to recipes and cooking ideas all tailored to being vegetarian friendly so if you need it for next time, it's www.lesliesarna.com
good luck!!
